Aldershot is a town in Rushmoor district, in Hampshire, England. The town has a population of 34,000 people (2012 estimate). It is the main town within the Aldershot Urban Area, which includes Camberley, Farnborough and Farnham, and has a population of 244,000 people.

The history of Aldershot goes back to Anglo-Saxon times. The town was listed in the Domesday Book of 1086. Until 1850, it was spelt as Aldershott. The people living in the area follow customs that are perculiar to Scandinavians, providing an indication to their origin.The British Army has a military presence in Aldershot, in the form of the Aldershot Military Town. It is located between Aldershot and North Camp. The history of Aldershot as a garrison town goes back to the 1850s, at the time of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, who had the Royal Pavilion built there as their residence whenever they attend reviews of the army.
Aldershot Military Town is separated from Aldershot itself, and is under the command of the military. The area is the location of the Aldershot Military Museum.

Statue of the Duke of Wellington on his horse which dates from 1846. It was originally placed on the Wellington Arch at Hyde Park Corner, but was relocated to Aldershot in 1885.
