Andalusia is one of the seventeen autonomous communities of Spain. It covers 87,268 sq km (33,694 sq mi) and has a population of 8.3 million people. It is the second largest region, or autonomous community as it is called, in the country, with also the second highest population.

Andalusia borders Murcia to the northeast, Castilla La Mancha and Extremadura to the north, and Portugal to the west. It is divided into eight provinces namely Huelva, Seville, Cádiz, Córdoba, Málaga, Jaén, Granada and Almería. The autonomous community of Andalusia comprises three distinct subregions - the Sierra Morena mountains to the north, the Baetic Cordillera in the center and the Baetic Depression.

The tourist attractions of Andalusia includes its heritage sites such as the Alhambra, its beach resorts along the Costa del Sol, and its ski resorts in the Sierra Nevada mountain range.
