Ascot is a small town in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead in Berkshire, England. Best known for the Ascot Racecourse, it has a population of 12,000 people (2012 estimate). This is where the world's most famous race meetings, Royal Ascot, is held every year in June.

Ascot Racecourse is located about six miles to the south of Windsor Castle, and is closely associated with the British Royal Family who are fond of horses. Ascot itself is just a small town with limited facilities. It has a supermarket, a petrol station and a few coffee shops and grocery shops including a Starbucks, a Costa, a Subway and a Tesco Express.

Visiting Ascot

Ascot can be reached via the M25 ring motorway. Turn off the M25 at Junction 13 and then continue on the A30 heading southwest. Turn right at either the A329 or further down the A330 to reach Ascot.
