Buckden is a small village in the Craven district of North Yorkshire, England. Situated on the River Wharfe, at the point where the Buckden Gill flows into it. The village has a population of less than 200 people (2012 estimate).

Buckden is within the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The village is famous because Lord Healey, the former Chancellor of the Exchequer from 1974 to 1979 spent his honeymoon in a barn there. That barn has now been converted into a guest room.

There are trekking path around Buckden ideal for visitors to explore the countryside. One may follow the river upstream to Hubberholme or downstream to Kettlewell.


Visiting Buckden

From Manchester take the M6 motorway to Junction 37, then continue east on the A684. Turn right and head south at the junction with the B6160 country road. Continue south on the B6160 until you reach Buckden.
