Caacupé is a small city in Paraguay. It serves as the provincial capital of the Cordillera department. The city covers 145 sq km (56 sq mi) and has a population of 42,000 people (2011 estimate). It is also the seat of the Roman Catholic diocese of Caacupé.

Caacupé was founded in 1770 by Carlos Murphy, who was a grenadier at the service of King Charles III of Spain. The area where Caacupé was established has been inhabited since the 17th century.

One of the main focus of Caacupé is its basilica, which is a national pilgrimage site, particularly during the feast day honoring the statuette of Our Lady of the Miracles, which falls on 8 December annually. The statuette, believed to have been carved in the 16th century by a devout Catholic, has had a number of miracles attributed to it.
