Gibraltar Airport (GIB) is the airport serving the British Overseas Territory of Gibraltar, on the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula. It is owned by the British Ministry of Defence for use of the Royal Air Force. However, the airport today serves mostly civilians flights that operate using the civilian terminal.

Gibraltar Airport was constructed on the former race course. When it was opened in 1939, it was an emergency airfield for the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm. Land reclamation allows it to extend its runway, allowing bigger aircrafts to land. Spain's continuing dispute over sovereignty of the land where the airport stands has affected the airport operations before.

Between December 1987 to September 2006, disagreement on the Gibraltar airport resulted in no flights allowed to land at the airport except those from the UK. On 18 September 2006, the United Kingdom, Spain and Gibraltar signed the Cordoba Accord which finally ended the discriminatory restrictions on civilian flights to Gibraltar Airport. That agreement allowed Iberia Airlines to start services from Madrid using Airbus A319 aircrafts.

The civilian airlines presently flying to Gibraltar Airport are British Airways, Iberian Airlines and Monarch Airlines.
