My World Travel Guides is my personal project to create the world's biggest personally written travel site describing the entire world. My desire is to describe every country, every city, every sight, and showcase some of the most beautiful photographs generously shared by other travel enthusiasts. Unlike other travel guides, My World Travel Guides is almost entirely written by me. However, this is made possible through the generous input of travelers and travel enthusiasts in helping me verify what I've written and sharing their photographs.

If you want to be involved in helping me with My World Travel Guides, please be aware of the following:
  1. This is strictly on a voluntary basis and you will not be paid.
  2. The text will appear under the Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike License 3.0 (Unported) license, meaning anybody can create derivative work from it freely. You can use it anywhere you like.
  3. Photographs should not be submitted to me. They have to be posted to Wikimedia and the link sent to me for consideration.
If you found something in my website that you want to correct or update, please write to me at:

My World Travel Guides was created out of my own curiosity and inquisitiveness to know the world. In embarking on this project, I have been touched by countless generous people who contribute their input, on a voluntary basis, in correcting and updating the information found on my travel websites, all of which are linked to one umbrella site, My World Travel Guides. Without your help, it would be difficult for me to maintain the accuracy and currentness of the information.

Type of Input

This travel website is not a travelogue. People often thought I am writing about my own travels, which is incorrect. I am not writing to document my travels, and similarly, submissions about your own travels cannot be used. I am writing to describe the world, all the cities, towns, villages, sights of the world, so that I can share travel information with other people, informing them what's there to see, how to find the right hotel, how to get there, what's the climate like, and so on. By reading my website, you will get an idea of what I am looking for.

Accuracy

The information appearing in My World Travel Guides and its related sites is provided in good will and good faith that it is as accurate as I can get it to be, at the time of writing. The information is researched by me, with corrections and updates submitted by readers. If you wish to use or follow the tips offered, I would recommend that you double check. Do always update me if you find anything outdated. Your input will help the next person using the information.

Writing Whole Pages

My websites are not able to receive full-length travel articles. I prefer to write all the articles myself, so that they can all follow a similar format. Also it gives me the sense of ownership that it's the travel guide written by me. Readers who are familiar with my style will know where to find the information they need. Much of the joy I derive from creating my websites is from doing the research and in personally writing each and every article.

Proposing an Article

You can only submit input to destinations that have already been written. If you have an information on a destination or attraction that has not yet appeared in my website, please feel free to write and propose that I consider writing about the place. I will then put it in my schedule to research and write, after which you can submit related input.

Translations

I have readers writing to me, expressing interest to help me translate their favorite sections of my websites into other languages. I am pleased to receive your translations. However, as I am often very busy, please allow me time to work on the uploading. Alternatively you can create your own translated version on your own blog or website, and link back to the original article over here.

Copyright

All text appearing in My World Travel Guides is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License 3.0 (Unported). That means anybody can make use of the article for their own use, as they wish. That is my whole intention, to share the information as it has been shared with me. Any derivative article created from this content should also bear the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License.

Photographs appearing on my websites are captioned with the author and the license in which they are used. You may only make use of these photographs according to the specified licensing (read Submitting Photographs).

The globe logo and names of all my websites are trademarks belonging to me. These are the only items copyrighted, meaning you cannot copy and use any of them without my expressed permission.

Submitting Photographs

You cannot submit photographs directly to me. In order for me to consider using your photograph, you have to post it in Wikimedia, and then provide me the URL of that photo. If it is used, it will be captioned with your username, a link to the Wikimedia landing page, and the license it carries. All photographs appearing in My World Travel Guides and captioned with the authorship can only be used according to the licensing as provided by the author.

Donations

I do not accept monetary donations for the running of My World Travel Guides and its related sites. I prefer to let the sites be supported by advertising, so that no user of the site need ever be burdened with having to help me run it. This also frees me from having to be answerable to anybody else in how I write My World Travel Guides.

References & Resources

I make use of all the travel guide books available, tourist brochures, Wikipedia, Wikitravel as well as check through the Internet for information. I also receive inputs and updates from travelers based on articles that I have written. Everything is however written in my own words. In case of specialty information, a Bibliography may appear at the bottom of the page to list the source.

Attribution and Crediting

By default I do not acknowledge on the page any input provided by readers. The information appears as it does in a wiki. However under specific instances and circumstances, I do acknowledge the source, and I will also acknowledge you as the contributor, at the bottom of the page, if you specify that your input requires acknowledgment.

If you are a noted celebrity or an authority in a particular area, please let me know, so that in my update, I will specify it accordingly.

If you are providing input that you derive from a copyrighted source, you should inform me of the source. You should not submit input to me by copying text word-for-word from copyrighted travel guides.

Use of Input

I cannot guarantee that all input will be used.

Comments Section

My travel websites does not have a comments section because I feel this makes the pages too long. As a result, readers looking for contributor input has to scroll through often poor-quality babble to find details useful to them. I prefer to keep each page concise and within a manageable length. Finally, I avoid comments section as it exposes my websites to spams and abuses.

Once again, I thank you for all the input and contribution to my travel websites, and I look forward to receiving more of them in the future.

How to earn from writing websites

I am one of the few people who earn a full-time income from my travel websites. It has been a long process, but it is something everybody can achieve. I write this article to provide you straight answers how anybody without prior web-building knowledge can also do the same.
