Hinckley is a town in Hinckley and Bosworth District, in southwest Leicestershire, England. With a population of 44,000 people (2012 estimate), it is the second largest town in Leicestershire after Loughborough, without counting Leicester, which has city status.

Hinckley is part of the Nuneaton Urban Area, due to its proximity to Nuneaton in neighboring Warwickshire. Hinckley was established during the Anglo-Saxon period. It was listed in the Domesday Book of 1086. At that time, it was just a village, but in the following two hundred years grew into a market town.

Hinckley was an insignificant town until the 17th century, when it became a center for the hosiery industry, which continued to be prominent right into the 19th century. Today Hinckley is a modern town. Its biggest shopping center is Britannia Centre.

From London take the M1 motorway to Junction 21, then continue west on the M69 motorway until Exit 2. Head west on the B4669 until you arrive in Hinckley.
