Kandersteg, Switzerland
Kandersteg is a picturesque Swiss village along the valley of the River Kander, in Bern Canton, Switzerland. The village sits to the west of the Jungfrau massif, on the northern side of the Bernese Alps, at an altitude of 1,174 m (3,852 ft) above set level, at the foot of the 2,690 m (8,825 ft) Lötschberg.

Kandersteg has been inhabited since Roman times. It began to develop as a tourist destination from the mid 19th century. In summer, people come here for hiking, mountain climbing and paragliding while in winter, skiers come for cross-country skiing.
The village of Kandersteg itself is quite small. It has a parish church which dates to the 16th century and a cluster of houses huddled together.

- Blausee
Small lake ideal for boating. It is ten minutes north of Kandersteg by car.
- Oeschinensee
Lake surrounded by tall cliffs located to the east of the village. A chairlift connects it to Kandersteg.
