 Kent, England
Kent is one of the counties of South East England. It covers 3,736 sq km (1,442 sq mi) and has a population of 1.7 million people (2011 estimate).

Kent borders East Sussex, Surrey and Greater London, and faces Essex across the estuary of the River Thames. The county is often called the Garden of England, as it has numerous orchards and hop gardens. Due to its proximity to continental Europe, Kent is often the springboard for Britain when sending warships into battle.
The county of Kent is on the southeastern part of England. It is bordered by a few bodies of water including the River Thames and the North Sea to the north, and the Straits of Dover and the English Channel to the south. The cliffs at Dover are of white chalk ridge known as the North Downs.
