Most visitors simply head towards Killarney National Park. But those who hang around will find a charming town with a number of well-preserved heritage sites. Killarney tends to get rather crowded in summer, so those intending to visit during that time should make their accommodation arrangements well in advance.

The town of Killarney has a number of good restaurants serving local fare. From the town, the famous lakes of Killarney are just a short distance away. There are three main lakes namely Lourgh Leane (the biggest), Muckross Lake and Upper Lake.
