Leominster is a market town in the northern part of Herefordshire, England. It has a population of around 11,000 people (2012 estimate). It is the largest of the five towns surrounding the city of Hereford, which is 19 km (12 mi) to the south. Leominster is situated at the confluence of the River Lugg and the River Kenwater.

More on Leominster

The history of Leominster goes back to the Anglo-Saxon period. In 1052, a battle erupted between the Welsh and the combined forces of the Normans and the English Saxons. The Reading Abbey founded a priory at Leominster in 1121. It was ransacked by the Welsh in 1402 and was destroyed. Archaeologists managed to rediscover remains of the priory in 2005.

Take the M5 motorway to Junction 7, then continue north and west on the A44 road until you reach Leominster.
