Leysin is a small village in Aigle district, Vaud canton, Switzerland. It covers 18.57 sq km (7.17 sq mi) and has a population of less than four thousand people (2011 estimate). Members of the Swiss Reformed Church slightly outnumber Roman Catholics by 26.8% to 25.7%. There are also a small minority belonging to the Orthodox church as well as other faiths.

Lying on the mountain slope about 1,260 m (4,135 ft) above the Rhône Valley, Leysin has developed into a tourist resort, with facilities for hiking in summer and skiing in winter. The climate here is unusually dry, making it ideal for the treatment of tuberculosis.

From Leysin, tourists can take the cable car to Tour de Mayen (2,326 m/7,631 ft) and to Berneuse (2,037 m/6,683 ft), where there's a revolving restaurant, Kuklos, that provides scenic views of the surroundings.

Take the train from Montreux to Aigle, and then change trains for Leysin. During ski season, there are also trains from Paris to Brig, from where you can connect to another train for Leysin.
