More on Los Andes
Originally a railway stop on the track between Valparaíso and Mendoza, Argentina, Los Andes still plays the same role today, although the railway traffic has been replaced by road traffic. The now derelict railway tracks, laid in 1910, are still visible today. There are plans afoot to restore the railway links but so far nothing concrete has materialized.
Visiting Los Andes
Highway 60 is the main highway through Los Andes, connecting Valparaíso via Viña del Mar with the Argentinian border.
