Marazion is a small town in Cornwall. It is situated on Mount's Bay, with Penzance about 3 km to the west. It has a population of about 1,500 people (2012 estimate). Marazion is best known as the staging point for visits to St Michael's Mount.

More on Marazion

Marazion received its town charter from King Henry III in 1257, the oldest charter of any town in Britain. It provided for the town to hold a market every Thursday.

Today Mazazion is a small charming town. According to German-born British scholar Sir Nikolaus Pevsner, the town center has cobbled pavements and old houses. There are a few notable historic buildings on the eastern side of town.

Visiting Marazion

Take the M5 motorway from Manchester until Exeter, then continue on the A30 road until it terminates at the junction with the A394 road. Turn left and head east for a short distance to arrive in Marazion.
