Ondangwa, Namibia
Ondangwa is a small town in north central Namibia, near the border with Angola. Located in the Oshana Region, it has a population of around 12,000 people (2011 estimate).

Ondangwa experiences a semi-arid climate. Its annual precipitation is 447 mm (18 in) with most of the rain occuring in the months of January and February. October is the hottest month in Ondangwa, with average high temperatures of 34°C. June and July are the coldest months, when the average low temperature drops to 8°C.
Ondangwa traces its history to the founding of a Finnish Lutheran mission in Ovamboland in 1870. The area saw heavy fighting between the SWAPO and South African army in the struggle for independence in the 1960s and 70s.
