Pays de la Loire is a region of France located on the western coast of metropolitan France. It covers 38,082 sq km (12,386.9 sq mi) and has a population of 3.6 million people (2011 estimate). The region observes the Central European Time (UTC+1/+2). Its capital and biggest city is Nantes.

Pays de la Loire was created from parts of Britanny (just 20%, the remainer in in the region of Brittany), Anjou, Maine, Poitou, Perche and a small part of Touraine. The region is composed of five departments namely Loire-Atlantique, Maine-et-Loire, Mayenne, Sarthe and Vendée.
