South East England is one of the nine regions of England. It comprises the area of the old Saxon kingdoms that surround present-day London. South East England covers an area of 19,096 sq km (7,373 sq mi). It has a population of 8 million people, with a GDP per capita of £22,624, the second highest in the country after Greater London.

Within South East England are the counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, East Sussex, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Kent, Oxfordshire, Surrey and West Sussex.

Due to its proximity to the capital, South East England is today the choice area for people who are working in or around London to find residential property. The area can be divided into three regions namely East Anglia, Thames Valley and The Downs and Channel Coast. Each retains a character and charm of its own.
