More on Stechelberg

In recent years, Stechelberg has become increasingly popular with tourists, both during summer and winter. Nonetheless it has not lost its traditional way of life. Visitors to the village will still be able to see the farmers going about their chores, somewhat unaware of their breathtaking surroundings. Clustered here in the valley and there are their farm houses, looking like Monopoly houses.

During summer, you can explore the surrounding countryside. You will pass by cows, sheep, and shaggy long-horned goats, and of course the occasional farmer. There are numerous hiking trails that take you sights of scenic beauty. The place has quite a number of tall waterfalls - some of the highest waterfalls in Switzerland are found here.
