If you are a full time student, you can enjoy a 25% discount on domestic flights within Australia, if you are able to produce an International Student Identity Card (ISIC). In addition, you can also enjoy student fare for entry into major tourist attractions and sights.

The ISIC has to be purchased at your own country, from the Student Travel Association. If you are a student enrolled into an Australian education institution, then yes, you can purchase the ISIC in Australia itself.
