Windsor Castle is a medieval castle in Windsor, Berkshire, England. The castle serves as a royal residence an has a long association with the British royal family. It is said to be Queen Elizabeth II's favourite weekend home.

The first castle was built by William the Conqueror shortly after the Norman invasion. It has been used by successive English monarchs since King Henry I, making it the longest-occupied palace in Europe.

Among the features of Windsor Castle include the 15th century St George's Chapel and 19th century State Apartments. The castle employs a full-time staff of some five hundred people. It is the largest inhabited castle in the world.

Visiting Windsor Castle

Windsor Castle is open to the public 9:45 am - 5:15 pm, last admission 4:00 pm, from March to October, and 9:45 am - 4:15 pm, last admission 3:00 pm from November to February.
