Yorkshire and the Humber is one of the nine official regions of England. It covers a 15,420 sq km (5,953 sq mi) area, ranking it fifth out of the nine regions of England. Yorkshire and the Humber has a population of 5.2 million people (2011 estimate), which places it in 6th position.

Yorkshire and the Humber comprises five ceremonial counties namely South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, part of North Yorkshire, East Riding of Yorkshire and part of Lincolnshire. Among the cities in this region include Leeds, Sheffield, Kingston upon Hull, York, Scunthorpe and Grimsby.

Going to Yorkshire and the Humber

By Plane
The main city in this region is Leeds, served by the Leeds-Bradford International Airport (LBA), base for low-cost carrier Jet2. From the airport, it takes 40 minutes to reach Leeds by bus. For a large wider option, fly to Manchester Airport.

By Train
The Leeds City Railway Station is one of the biggest stations in the country, and the third businest outside London. You can catch a train from London's Kings Cross Station to Leeds.
